All my life I’ve been dying to travel and check out each part of the world. So in this post, I thought I’d share with you lovely readers the places I’ve always dreamed of going and the new places I’ve learnt about and want to explore.
Bali has always been one of my number one travel destination, not only is it a beautiful place, but it’s full of culture and there’s so much to do there.
I’d love to go to the Ubud Monkey Forest that’s actually within the village of Padangtegal. The village’s residents view the Monkey Forest as an important spiritual, economic, educational, and conservation center for the village. There are around 700 monkeys within the forest and three temples to visit there too. All I can picture is King Louis there from The Jungle Book!
There’s also so many different ‘secret’ waterfalls that you can visit. I’ve always wanted to go to one, how peaceful and beautiful do the Sekumpul Waterfalls look!
Scuba diving in Bali is supposed to be amazing too. There’s a super cool Hindu temple that’s underwater! The images on google look insane, it’s something I’d have to experience if I were to visit Bali.
I would absolutely love to visit! Again, it has so much to do and see, especially the Great Barrier Reef which is among one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World – if you don’t already know, I love fish! It is the largest collection of coral reefs in the world, spanning over 1,400 miles. It’s so large that it can be seen from space. It is the place to go diving, offering a one-of-a-kind display of underwater life.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House? The Opera house is one of the most recognisable structures in the world, it looks amazing lit up at night too.
The great Sphinx of Giza along with the Pyramids is something I’ve always wanted to see with my own eyes. The Egyptian era has always fascinated me, how amazing it would be to see these hand built wonders in person?
There are so many different temples and ruins to visit, I do love to holiday in places with such great history and culture.
I would love to visit Japan one day, everything about it appeals to me. Visiting Mount Fuji, the shrines and temples, the food! It’s just one of those places I’ve really wanted to see, even the architecture would be worth the trip.
Specifically for the Grand Canyon, this place is 100% on my bucket list. How amazing would it be to fly over this monumental sight in a hot air balloon?!
I’d also want to see the Antelope Canyon in Arizona. It is a picturesque series of crevices that you wouldn’t believe wasn’t a photography trick until you checked it out yourself.
I’ve always wanted to go to Alaska, as it is known for its diverse terrain of open spaces, mountains and forests and wildlife. There are many national parks there, including the Kenai Fjords which is home to a huge ice field of glaciers and diverse wildlife. In the summer months you can explore the Fjords on a boat tour that meets in the small harbour there, it takes you deeper into the park and gives the opportunity to see more wildlife and picturesque scenes.
Something I’ve always wanted to do here is to see the Northern Lights display. Peak viewing season is in the dead of winter, when the weather is the coldest and when it is the darkest – best wrap up warm when/if I visit!
While you can potentially see them all over the state, the most reliable spot is Fairbanks. Up and inland, Fairbanks is geographically under the “aurora oval,” where auroras are seen most frequently. You can even take excursions several hours north from there. There’s just something completely magical about these lights that is definitely a must see experience.
These are just a small handful of places I’d love to visit, each place so full of excitement and once in a lifetime experiences.
Have you ever been to any of these places?
If so – I’m jealous!
See you in the next post!
