Hello to all Wizards, Witches, Muggles and Squibs…
So this post is a continued one really from my Mini Trip To York post – obviously I had to visit The Shop That Must Not Be Named whilst we were there.
The most amazing thing about the shop was the windows! They were dressed absolutely immaculately and so magical! It was so good that I didn’t even mind queuing to get in because I got to see all the exciting things on offer. I loved all the owls carrying gifts!
The staff were so wonderful, constantly commenting on people wearing Harry Potter Merch and how you’ve visited “dressed for he occasion”. Luckily for us, we only had to wait around 15 minutes until we got in.
It was so good, I mean if Myles wasn’t with me, it would have been easy for me to completely loose myself and buy one of everything there. I wanted everything. However, I was very good and and only treated myself to a shopper bag for our groceries.
The little shop really brought to life my childhood and the fact that its in the Shambles really reminded me of Diagon Alley. As it happens, it was actually one of the places in the UK that J.K. Rowling got inspiration from for Diagon Alley – which you can quite clearly see from the photos!
There was another couple of shops that were Harry Potter inspired, but obviously this was by far the best. We all deserve a little magic in our lives. I’m so pleased I’ve seen this little wonder of a shop. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that a lot of the products were the same as the ones from the Warner Bros Studio Tour Shop. I’d have preferred to see more unusual and quirky items for sale really. BUT I did love it.
Have you been here before?
