Happy Blogmas guys – day 15 already!
Ok, so today is Friday the 15th which can only mean that it is Christmas Jumper Day – one of my fave fundraising days! It was created by the charity Save the Children and is basically where, all over the country, thousands of people will be wearing their daftest, most wonderful woollies – all for a great cause.
Their aim is to make Christmas Jumper Day the biggest, silliest day ever, whilst raising money for children less fortunate than us. You’ll be surprised at just how many of your colleagues, classmates, neighbours, friends and family are looking for an excuse to flaunt their fabulous knits. Including myself and the girls at my bakery shop! Here’s a pic!
Everyone who joins in on the day can of course pop on a festive knit or tee, and give £2 to take part to make the world better with a sweater. Just one £2 donation could help pay for a cosy blanket and hat to keep a child warm. Every jumper really can help save lives! It can help bring essential healthcare, education, protection and food to millions of children around the world who are missing out on these basics. It can even help to protect children from easily preventable yet still deadly diseases like malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia. We had no end of people commenting on our tops, plus we had a laugh! – It’s always fun to have a non-uniform day!
Also, it can help Save The Children reach children who are forgotten, simply because they were born in a remote village, because they’re girls or refugees, have a disability or are from a minority group.
It’s such a fab charity and a great way to get people to think about those less fortunate than us at Christmas – but still have fun! Whether you go full-on light up chewbacca in a Christmas hat or play it cool with a simple snowflake knit, the money raised can help make a world of difference to children in desperate need – and give those less fortunate kiddos a chance to be children again! Which is essentially what Christmas is all about!
Even Myles joined in on his night shift at work!
Did you take part in Christmas Jumper Day? What sort did you wear? 🎅🏼❤️
See you tomorrow!
