Hello Lovelies,
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the arrival of Spring and secretly begging it to hurry up! This damp and dismal weather always gets me feeling a little blue. However, there are a few simple things that you can do to inject a bit of Spring into your home.
Let all those beautiful flowers and foliage appearing at this time of year inspire you to brighten your home with fresh garden blooms and wonderful eye-catching accessories. I love those pretty pastel tones, floral prints and botanical patterns that just add that colourful, happy feeling that comes with the new season.
So here are my three simple ways to bring the Spring into your home…
1. Display and Arrangement
Any seasonal blooms can bring a fresh, uplifting feel to any interior. A beautiful bunch of tulips loosely arranged in a large jug, or emerging daffodil bulbs potted into cute window pots will instantly signal the approach of Spring. It can also be an effective way to add vibrant colour, as well as filling your home with a super sweet scent!
My ultimate fave flowers are tulips and the variety of colours they are available in means that anyone can create a cheery bouquet personalised to their own tastes. I currently have a gorgeous rainbow bunch – bright reds, oranges, yellows and lilacs really brighten up our bedroom. Also, how cheery does my current read look?! Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming review on this.
Easter comes early this year too, I love to play around with different seasonal themes. By simply adding real, blown or decorative speckled eggs to a flower arrangement, it can create a playful little twist for a Spring/Easter display. I may even go all out this year and throw a little yellow chick in the mix.
2. Colour and Tone
A neutral room can often benefit from single-block colours in shades that echo those of springtime flowers and plants. They work particularly well when used to highlight pieces of furniture to make a bold statement – for example: a set of chairs, a dresser or even to dress the master bed.
Tonal hues such as blues, greens and yellows have a gentler effect when used together. Alternatively, you could mix and match tonal and contrasting shades for a bolder scheme.
My favourite Spring time colour scheme has to be bright pink, lush lime greens, turquoises and a lemon yellow – these colours against a light bright room really elevate that sense of Springtime for me. Bold, playful and inspiring.
The most simplest way to add pattern to your home is with accessories! Look for cushions, throws, bedding or even vintage crockery with vibrant floral designs to offset a pale background. If you want to go all out, a wider area of pattern such as wallpapers and fabrics will create a larger impact.
I love a plain room with a bold and bright patterned feature wall! This gorgeous William Morris style wallpaper shown below is what I’m talking about, it stands out against the white without taking over the room.
Don’t think it has to be a floral pattern to inject Spring into your home. Any pattern from botanicals, classic gingham checks to stripes will brighten a room. Whether in subtle neutrals or bolder shades, they will introduce decorative detail to any room, as will animal and bird motifs, especially those with a spring theme such as hares and chicks. Doesn’t gingham remind you so much of those Spring time picnics in the park?
What’s your favourite way to introduce the Spring season into your home? Let me know in the comments!

I love spring but I also feel like time is rushing by and it’s crazy that winter will soon be over. I love the images on colour and tone. The tulips are beautiful as well.

I know, this past year for me has flown by, I was inspired to write this when I was drenched the other day walking 10 yards from my car to the shop, my scarf blew away but I couldn’t catch it because my hair was in my eyes đŸ˜‚ tulips are my faves, thank you x

Haha I think the day you are talking about, I tried to walk my dog and my hair and hood were both attacking my face. It kept whacking me and falling down. I can’t handle any form of storms x
