Recently, I have noticed that Primark’s upcoming beauty launches are seriously on point. I usually go in for the beauty section, magic face cloths, face brushes and scrubs – that kind of thing. I have noticed no end of very obvious dupes that are actually pretty impressive, the Kylie Jenner style lip kits and Too Faced Palette lookalikes are great! Yesterday I visited with my two younger cousins, who are my go-to shopping buddies, to see what goodies we could find.
The first thing I picked up was this oval makeup brush from PS…Pro, a definite dupe for high-end brand Artis, but come in at less than a tenth of the cost. Prices start at just £2.50 and go up to around £4, making them a seriously affordable alternative on the high street. I got mine at half price!
First impressions are really good. The synthetic bristles are nice and dense, feel super soft and do a great job at effortlessly buffing in foundation for a seamless finish. I was so surprised at how well this worked, especially as I’ve been wanting to try them for so long. I did find that I needed to use a little more product than usual, as it tended to suck up quite a bit of product into the bristles. The overall effect was great and my foundation has stayed on evenly all through my working day.
The next thing I picked up was his funky looking face cleansing brush for £3. With a SUPER soft brush one side and rubber bristles the other, it’s great for exfoliating your skin and buffing in that cleanser to remove makeup and dead skin cells.
Once you have removed your makeup, apply a good quality cleanser to your face. Wet the facial brush and massage the cleanser into your skin with small circular motions using gentle pressure then rinse with warm water.
I absolutely love those pinky-mauve-brown lipstick shades, they really suit my skin tone and are great to wear day and night. I picked out this satin-matte lipstick by PS… in the shade #ITGIRL.
It goes on easy and doesn’t bleed like I predicted it would, a fab find for just £2.50 and great for me to wear at work instead of wasting my high end lippy’s!
I’ve wanted to try Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for absolutely ages now, it’s been all over Instagram and I picked up this little travel sized bottle for just 90p.
I love that they have a sensitive skin version, although my skin isn’t that sensitive, I don’t like to use chemicals that are too harsh. Just remove make-up, cleanse and soothe your skin, and there’s no need to rinse! Keep your eye out for a full review on this one!
What beauty bargains have you picked up recently? Tried any of these?
See you next time!
