For many of us, the colder months are our favourite time of the year. Those cosy nights in, snuggled up in blankets and snacking on all your favourite comfort foods, could it be any more hygge?
During the winter months, our skin goes through a tough time trying to keep hydrated, so what better time to indulge in some ultra hydrating skincare products. With Autumn and Winter comes limited edition ranges, and that’s always the case with The Body Shop, they bring out gorgeous new limited edition ranges each year and this year is no different. Say hello to their new Autumn range – Fall For Pumpkin.
My skin is really suffering right now, I’ve never resembled a snake in shed so much! So with that in mind, I treated myself to a shower gel, hand cream and body butter.
I love the limited edition seasonal packaging that’s actually inspired by the traditions of Central and South America’s Dia de los Muertos. Each product from the range has a indulgent rich formula and claims to provide 24hr moisture.
Vanilla Pumpkin Shower Gel
I absolutely love using this in the shower, it’s a really thick, creamy texture and does a great job of keeping my skin hydrated. I love that it doesn’t make my skin feel tight once I’m dry either, I find a lot of shower gels can be quite harsh in that sense. It creates a really rich lather and I love that a little goes a pretty long way too.
It has been created to smell cosy and autumnal with a fabulous pumpkin fragrance, vanilla from Madagascar, and hints of tonka bean, hazelnut and maple syrup. It’s almost like a boozy Irish cream scent rather than pumpkin, but I honestly can’t get enough of it. It’s not something I would usually buy, but I was swayed by the scent this time!
Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter
I love The Body Shop body butters ever since receiving a set of three for Christmas one year. The vanilla pumpkin butter is so thick and is intensely moisturising, with 24 hour intense moisture designed to help out dry skin.
I love to use this body butter right after having a relaxing shower, I massage over my entire body (apart from face) and it sinks into the skin leaving it feeling soft, hydrated and scented just like the shower gel, that subtle Vanilla and pumpkin. I also use this before bed on my baby bump! I love how soft it makes my skin feel and how massaging it in helps me to connect with my little one.
It is perfect for this season when skin is a little more under pressure and dry. I highly recommend this product out of the three in this range, not only is it the best I’ve used, but it’s a limited edition, so won’t be around for long. I’ve already stocked up on two, 200ml last a long time too as you don’t need loads to get a good coverage.
Vanilla Pumpkin Hand Cream
I’ve always suffered with dry hands thanks to the harsh cleaning chemicals we have to use at work. Because of this, I’ve always got a hand cream in my handbag, it’s especially essential for this time of year! Again this smells so gorgeous, I get more of a vanilla scent from this compared to the other two products, probably due to the added Shea butter for extra care, but I still love it nonetheless.
It’s very similar to the body butter, just a little thinner so that it soaks in a bit quicker. I love that it’s not a heavy formula and doesn’t feel the slightest bit greasy unlike other hand creams I’ve used. I find it really lasts too as I don’t have to keep reapplying every ten minutes.
Overall, I have loved pampering myself with these gorgeous smelling products – products that actually work too. I do think that they are a little pricey for what they are, even if they are limited edition. I wouldn’t have purchased them if it hadn’t have been for many discount codes! Out of the three, I would most likely re-purchase the body butter, it’s really helped my skin and like I said above, I love rubbing it into my baby bump and I wouldn’t mind trying the coconut scented one.
Have you tried any of these Autumn goodies from The Body Shop yet? Let me know what you think!
