Hey beauty lovers!
As you may have seen in yesterday’s Lacura Aloha Bronzer post, Aldi have recently released their own beauty and makeup dupes that basically copy well known products from brands, such as Benefit Cosmetics, NARS and Charlotte Tilbury.
To continue the Aldi Beauty Dupe Series, today I will be reviewing the Snapshot Ready Primer in Aldi’s Lacura range. Retailing at just £5.99, it’s a clear copy of Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer that retails at £26.00.
This primer is almost an exact replica of the Smashbox primer. In fact, the whole product itself is virtually identical. They both come in very chic black and white packaging, they both contain 30ml of product, and both have Dimethicone and Dimethicone Vinyl in their top five ingredients.
Dimethicone is a silicon-based polymer used as a lubricant and conditioning agent. This is what makes the primer leave a smooth finish, you will also find it in hair conditioners.
Having used the more expensive original for a while now, someone could easily swap the contents of my must-have primer for Aldi’s version and I’m pretty sure I’d never even realise. They both feel so smooth and silky on the skin, they’re so easy to apply and neither have a particularly strong smell to tell them apart.
I trialed both primers today, one each side of my face under my usual daily foundation. The Smashbox side did appear slightly more even and my foundation hadn’t sunk into my creases as much. Whereas the Lacura side seemed a little bit more patchy and my pores seemed to be more pronounced.
Overall, Smashbox wins hands down for me. BUT if you have never used Smashbox before, you will be seriously impressed by Lacura. I won’t often buy my own high-end beauty products as they’re always something I’ve asked for for Christmas or birthdays. If I had ran out of my beloved Smashbox, I would most definitely pick up this Lacura Snapshot Ready Primer to get me by!
Have you tried the Lacura Snapshot Ready Primer yet? Could you tell the difference between the two?
See you in tomorrow’s Aldi Beauty Dupe Post!
