Hello lovelies,
Welcome to day three of my Aldi Beauty Dupe Series! Today, I’m going to review the Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser, a rumoured copy of famous Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish.
The Lacura Cleanser retails at just £3.99, almost a whole 85% cheaper than Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish at £16.50!
I’ve not used Liz Earle’s Cleanser before, but it’s obvious that these two products are very similar indeed. It’s easy to understand how something might work with your skin by taking a looksie at the ingredients list.
At first look Aldi’s Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser looks like a great pick. It’s free from harsh cleansers such as SLS and two of its top listed ingredients are moisturising and skin conditioning. It also contains a surprising amount of natural ingredients for a supermarket skincare product. Some other similaries to Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish include:
- Pretty much the exact same starting ingredients – water, coconut oil and cocoa seed butter
- They use the same emulsifying/cleansing ingredients – Cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate
- Both have very similar essential oils
- Both use glycerin to help hydrate your skin
- Both have the same fragrance allergen found in the essential oils used which legally has to be listed on the ingredients list
At £3.99 for 200ml, Aldi’s Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser is a great dupe for Liz Earl’s Cleanse and Polish. It promises a sensitive skin friendly cleanse with no harsh cleansing ingredients. It also impressively has a large amount of natural ingredients and cleanses your skin wonderfully. I really enjoyed using it, it smells great and gently melts away your makeup with ease.
The only complaint I would have, is that the Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser muslin cloth is a little more scratchy compared to others I’ve used before. To treat your skin extra sensitively, grab yourself a pack of muslin cloths from amazon.
Overall, if you’re after a gentle cleanser that removes makeup and is suited to all skin types, then the Lacura cleanser is for you! Also, the fact that it’s under £5, comes with a muslin cloth and is pretty much the best cheap cleanser I’ve ever used is an added bonus! It’s just a shame this isn’t a permanent stock item at Aldi all year round – grab it whilst you can guys!
