Moon Daisy Hare | My Little Craft Business

Hi guys!

Last Autumn my maternity money stopped and as well as starting a part time job as a barista, I wanted to make money doing something I loved. Not only would it help to take the pressure of providing for our family off Myles a bit, but it would give me a hobby I am passionate about and make a little money from doing something I loved to do.

With that in mind, I started to sew! My Nona brought me a sewing machine from Hobbycraft and I purchased a few patterns, books and fat quarters and started to create. I started off making a bunny prototype for Ollie and within minutes of posting it on my Instagram, I had people asking me to make them one too!

Five months on, I’ve made dolls, elephants, bunnies, bunting and more! As well as my sewing, I design and make wooden gifts with my friend, each bespoke gift is hand crafted and made with love. We make all kinds of signs to hang, decorations for Christmas trees, baby gifts and more. If you want to check them out visit my business Instagram or purchase via Etsy.

Why Moon Daisy Hare?

I wanted a name for my business that was different and quirky, something with a little play on words. Since my first sewn toy was a bunny, (and I love bunnies and hares), I wanted to incorporate that into my logo and name.

My mum actually came up with Moon Daisy Hare, a little play on the words moon gazing hare. We came up with it over lunch and I ended up creating the Instagram for it there and then. That night I drew up a little logo and fell in love with it! It’s different, cute and completely unique.

I’m currently planning on a lot of new products, both wooden and hand sewn, so please keep your eyes peeled for new bits and bobs in the next few months. I’m gutted that I haven’t got anything solid to go in January but waiting for craft supplies to be delivered and reevaluating a couple of designs has thrown me behind a bit. As well as raising our 1 year old and going to work!

I’m hoping to do a craft market at the Roundhouse in Derby this Christmas. I’ve got lots of good ideas and this year I’ll be more organised in advance! When it gets closer to the time I’ll have to post the dates, it would be great to see you there!

If you follow Moon Daisy Hare on Instagram, I’m going to be doing a prize draw/give away soon too. Who wouldn’t want to win a handmade bespoke gift? Get following!

Thanks for reading,

Love Charlie x
